WLFD Pancake Breakfast
Station 2 - Dousman
Sunday, October 13th, 2019
Dousman Fire District presents annual pancake breakfasts every year towards the end of each summer. Pancake breakfasts are more than just good eats, and getting the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of firefighters and EMTs. These breakfasts are an important part to all emergency responders in the district, as it brings much needed funds for important items firefighters and EMTs use to keep us safe on emergency scenes. In 2015, the pancake breakfast raised enough money to pay for the majority of new FLIR cameras. 2016, this breakfast helped raise money which bought new reflective vests to be worn on vehicle accidents to make us more visible to oncoming traffic.
Dousman Fire District started holding an annual pancake breakfast back in 2002. These breakfasts have been held every year since to help the firefighters and EMTs help the community in which they serve. However, 2016 was the last year Dousman Fire District held their pancake breakfast after 14 years. The reason for that, is that as of March 2nd, 2017, the Dousman Fire District and the Oconomowoc Fire Department consolidated to become the Western Lakes Fire District that you see now. WLFD will be holding its first annual WLFD Pancake breakfast with a date to be determined. The event will take place at WLFD’s Dousman station at 107 S. Main St.
